Adam was the first......

When Adam was started I had the basic idea. After all I had been telling people about the story that God had given me about Adam and Eve set in today's high school setting for years. But I had no idea the depth it would take to develop their personalities, their visual appearance (yeah who knew?), their interaction with others like a head nod or fist bump and in whose character would do each one. So to say the least it has been fun getting to know these characters myself and as they developed I could literally see them doing the things that was being written about them. From the blank looks to the scowls and even to their body language came alive for me.

As the writing continued the characters turned ito people and the people took on a life of their own! Their struggles became something I dealt with everyday and I began to want to help them get through what was bothering them. At times I wanted to scream at them like you do at the movies to don't go in there or You gotta be kidding me, really?! However, like at the movies it was all to no avail, even though I was the one doing the writing. I couldn't just not let them do it, or not allow them to go there. They had to, they had a journey to walk, a high school to attend, a life that needed to be lived. Soon I realized these characters had done something that ha only taken place in my own personal reading, they had taken on life to me. When they hurt, I hurt. When they cried...well I didn't cry but felt like it!

As I researched what I could about them in the Bible, I found that the facts that I found about was at times one dimensional and I needed to add depth and character to them. I didn't take anything away from the Word of God nor did I add per say, just enhanced as one does with fact/fiction. You take a fact that you know and weave an incredible tale around it by giving it depth, life and a voice.

I hope that as you read Adam the first in the Edensville High Series you are drawn into their little sleepy little town, but know that more lie in Edensville than what's on the surface. Its as big as any big city high school and they struggle with the same issues that every teenager does. Life. I hope that as you read the Edensville High Series that you'll want to know more about them too. Root for them to win, learn and grow as the do and ultimately seeing yourself in one, if not several, of the characters. I hope as you read you will also come to know, like them, that you can make it through the struggles that life throws at you too and that high school, thank God, is not forever!
